The Association "Our City of Emod" was created by an outstanding order on July 06, 2003. The charter was registered on July 30, 2003, approved and signed by a Court Judge on he same day in the City of Miskolc, Hungary. We are part of a legal entity.

The Association is a nonprofit, all volunteer civic organization. The directors and its members are all volunteers and no one gets paid. Basic expenses are paid out of membership fees. The aim of the organization is to focus on civil society and civil education, human rights, environmental protection, the rule of law and other related issues. In order to achieve this, it takes resources, help to build budget to contact people, convey and instill the thoughts and rights of democracy.

The basic purpose of the Association is to initiate, promote and foster the development of democratic institution within the community as well as in the region. To increase the access of democracy is clearly the right priority. We plan to reach people with direct mailing, having conferences on different topics that may include education, training, volunteer programs, sport, and cultural activities. In addition, we plan to promote economic policies and other initiatives to benefit underserved population. We aim to include people of all ages to be part of our member and programs without any discrimination. It is tailored to the current generation of young as well as older people alike, who want to do something good for the benefit of mankind.
Our program aimed at strengthening relations by building bridges between present and future ideals. We need the courage in implementing reforms that may be necessary to strengthen the economy and social behaviors. In addition, we plan to initiate partnership and cooperation with other associations, focusing on helping other groups in a democratic society. We plan to enlist greater number of public sectors to further support the ideals of society. Freedom is a human aspiration that can be realized through the development of democratic institutions, procedures and values.

We plan to "reach-out" to spread the ideas, the values and causes of liberal democracy, which is essential part on long term strategy. By doing so, we believe that the efforts are well worth it. Furthermore, we plan to gather strength in representations, values and open mindedness for the causes and eventually people will be able to see the light and make better judgments on the future of their life.
